    Sclerotherapy

    Varicose vein

caused by consecutive sitting or standing or higher body weight in obese people or pregnancy. Capillary pressure is high for a long time, there’s deterioration after the vessel on/off that make blood vessels expand out into small red or green capillaries. Later on, it soon will be a relief baggy green line, more or less depending on the deterioration of arteries. The study found that about 40% of women aged 50 years and above often have a problem with varicose veins in the legs.

    Risk factors

    1. The work that requires long stand or walk such as sales, fare collector, etc.
    2. Heredity, parents with varicose veins are most likely to have children with varicose veins as well.
    3. Varicose veins is increased together with older age since the flexibility and strength of the aortic valve are decreased.
    4. Sex hormones, females are more likely to have varicose veins than male due to the direct effects of female hormone.
    5. Overweight, people with excess weight are likely to have bad blood circulation. There is backlog of blood at their legs which significantly cause varicose veins.
    6. Shock or pressure such as cross-legged due to bad blood circulation.
    7. Wearing high heels causes bad blood circulation.
    8. Genetic.

The treatment is divided into two parts

    1. Conservative Treatment generally  this method will be used, which will focus on the prevention and treatment of the symptoms. This can be done by wearing special stockings which are more thick and tight than general stockings. The pressure is typically in the range 20-30 mmHg. Wearing must wear from thigh to the ankle. Wearing less than this as only the vessel is useless.
    2. Conservative Treatment will be done whencomplications arise including interms of beauty. Complications of varicose veins are as follows;
      1. Bleeding
      2. Chronic wounds
      3. Skin inflammation
      4. Pulmonary embolism

There are specific two types of treatment

    1.  Sclerosing injection into the vein. This causes the vein to collapse and then atrophy. The advantages are not requiring surgery, no recovery, no scars. This treatment is not complicated at all. The doctor will take the time to treat only 30 - 60 mins. You will not feel pain because the needle used to inject medicine is very small. Mostly 90% of varicose veins will disappear after treatment.
Currently this treatment is considered standard and is recognized as an efficient way than conventional treatment. 80-90 percentage of patients who had been treated with such methods is seen great results from a single treatment.

    2.   Vascular Laser; Long pulse; ND YAG laser , laser beam will destroy blood vessels directly. This causes the vein to collapse and then atrophy. The advantages are not requiring surgery, no recovery, no scars.

    Practice after treatment

    1. Avoid heavy lifting or long standing for 3-7 days.
    2. Wear shirts and support in the treated area to reinvigorate the muscles and blood vessels. The time required depends on the size of the vessel. For small arteries wear it 1-3  days at least. For medium-sized varicose veins (nib size) wear at least 7  or more days.
    3. Exercise by walking every day to encourage effective medicine distribution. This enables the treatment works better.
    4. See doctor by appointment within 2 – 4 weeks so that doctor will monitor the treatment effect.
